Housing Trends and Affordability

Housing Trends and Affordability

Conducted by the Royal Bank of Canada, this report outlines the housing trends and affordability in several provinces and cities across Canada. Various housing affordability measures are used in the analysis such as ownership costs as % of household income; mortgage carrying costs by city; average prices of homes sold on the MLS system; home sales- to-new listings ratio. While these indicators are used to look at broader trends, it is possible to use similar indicators to assess your local communities.
