Implementing Housing First – Lessons from Toronto

Undertaken by the Centre for Research on Inner City Health (CRICH) at St. Michael's Hospital, this report focuses on: housing availability; experiences adapting to independent housing; issues related to maintaining tenancies; and, implementing an anti-racism/anti-oppression framework. Housing First programs offer people experiencing homelessness and mental health problems access to independent housing and supports. This research report presents the findings of implementing Housing First in Toronto. It is also a good resource to learn more about this challenge and the solutions that will help housing providers meet the needs of all residents.
