Steve Stride is Chief Executive of east London housing association Poplar HARCA (Housing and Regeneration Community Association) & President of the Chartered Institute of Housing. With a team of 300 staff he leads a £1 billion regeneration programme to reshape the Poplar area and deliver award winning housing and community services for 9,000 homes. Steve has worked in the housing sector all of his professional career and joined Poplar HARCA in 1998. He has lived in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets for most of his life and remains passionate about the regeneration opportunities for east London.

SESSION DESCRIPTION:
In this session, we re-connect with a popular 2014 Regeneration Forum speaker Steve Stride, who will talk about the critical role that tenant engagement plays in the success of regeneration projects. He will share how his organization embeds resident engagement in all areas of their housing business. You will learn about the types of community engagement initiatives he has used in his regeneration projects that have enabled neighbourhood change and positive outcomes skills, businesses, partnerships and new investments.
